Benjamin F Boyrard
Hi, it's me, Benjamin, the owner and webmaster of this weather web site.
I am keen on tropical meteorology and computer science. In fact, I like just about any field that has something to do with Science in general.

I did Physics and Chemistry studies at University (during my first 2 years)  then I specialized in computer programming.

I am a member of the Archeological Association of ope Estate, and member of the Project Atlantic Vortex team. I was once President of the Guadeloupe's branch of an association of Saint Martin's students (ASMIS) and recently a mathematics, physics and biology teacher for junior high level and professor of mathematics and computer science for a college level class.  (see School picture here.)

Concerning my hobbies: beside weather and computer, I alos like writing. Poetry consitutes 90% of my compositions, then comes a few lyrics for songs, scientifc repports and documents... and now I am launching out myself in an analytical text on the evolution of the actual society.
I love science-fiction films... long live the world of imagination !
I like drawing, but because of a lack of time I have droped this type or art. What a petty ! (I know)
I have a weakness for collacting semi-precious stones and fosiles.

To escape this world fill with stress, nothing is better than to strike a few piano notes or to observe fishes swimming in an aquarium.
I am not a big romantic dude, but who say "Love Poems" also say "Flowers". I can stay hours just admiring flowers (all shapes and colours). The one that intrigues me the most is the orchid, it is so pure, so light, so fine, so mysterious in its form... anyway !

One simple recommendation I can give to the youth: is not to limit yourself in life. You must have a dream or a vision to pursuit until the very end even if some young people or adults alike will try to be obstacles in your way to success.
If you were born to fly like an eagle, why should you content yourself to leave others to force you to live as a simple chicken ?
And most important of all, the abuse of alchool and the consumption of drugs is as good as what flows within sewage pipes (if, of course, you consider that to be "good").
And like people almways like to ask me the question: my first love died in a car accident because of a drunken driver.
During these last few 5 years (or so) as I have employed, I have learned a lot on the social relations between employee and employer, the social conflicts, the tricks, the manipulation.... some elderly persons who build their empire on the hard labour of young people, exploiting the youth or other adults like themselves while finding all the so-called reasons to justify their deeds... anyway, all just one of the many faces of capitalism.

In the book that I am curently writing I make a lot of references to the year 1995 as the Year of Revolution: some say 1 + 9 + 9 + 5 = 24 and that 2 + 4 = 6, that famous number 6.
Inspite it all, since then we have witness exceptional events over the years: numerous lunar eclipses, solar eclipses (total and partial), cyclones, earthquakes, tidal waves, forest fires, sea creatures washed ashore, the rise of the sea level, the hole in the ozone layer, volcanoes, comets, the alignment of a few planets, .... all since 1995, and of course our global climat that always have surprises for us !

And yes ! philosophy is to me what ice cream (vanilla or chocolate) is to a child !

Well, I hope that this web site will bring to you a maximum of information possible, enjoy the web surfing !

Words, images & the melody
I am a relatively shy and reserved person.
For such main reasons I have always found refuge and a certain force behind the power and images than words can produce.
To my own knowledge, I have started wirting poetry since 1992, year in which I met an Angel. A Hawiian who gave a new definition to the word "angel"...
She liked poetry.
What a luck !
No need to say that within a time span of 5 years I have writen no less than 113 love poems.
In between I would compose a poem or two for other occasions.
But I owe the rest of my poetic acheivement to a friend I met in Guadeloupe: Henri Miguel. He who had encouraged me to register myself to a poetry contest held in the USA, explained in a random email I had received. Which points out that receiving SPAM is not always that bad !
I like to keep my feet on earth and stay realistic, all with a humble attitude.
I had doubts about this poerty contest thing, until the day I received an email stating that I was selected to come to Walt Disney World to participate in the final round of the contest organized by Poetry.com.
Surely some writers love reading their own art in public. Not that I am shy but get the impression of exposing the deepest and most secret part of me in public (which makes me very uncomfortable).
Beside, by definition, a poet should never read his own writing in public. One is a poet because he or she expresses their thoughts and feelings through writing.
Anyway, the presentation of one's poem before a croud of 3000 poets from across the world is definetly not an easy task. But I returned to St Martin with a silver cup.
Ouf !
Periodically I would receive invitations to various cultural and book events organized by "the House of Nehesi Publishers" (publishing house) on the Dutch Side.
This year, the invitation came from the City Hall on the French Side. I had the priviledge to present a few of my poems during the evenings "Le Jardin des Poètes" organized by the commune. One of them featured in the book The Best Poems & Poets of 2002 that was published in the USA.
After a few essaies or marketing tests, I will be soon launching large publications in english and in french.
