WORD / ABREVIATION
MEANING
Anti-cyclone Region of high atmospheric pressure at sea level (above 1014 hPa)
Ascendance Column of rising air
Assymetry Term used when a system has its area of disturb weather lap on one side more than the other
Convection Area of "intense" rising air motion resulting in deep cloud formation (e.g cumulonimbus)
Cyclonic spin Trade winds depicting a full 360° rotation around and toward an area of low atmospheric pressure (in a counter-clockwise direction for the Northern Hemisphere)
Barometrics Which deals with atmospheric pressure
Isobars Line of equal atmospheric pressure at a giving height from sea level
Wind vectors Mobile arrow indicating wind direction, sens and speed
